Finally on our way.

Hard to believe it but we are actually on our way.

Finally all packed!

Day 1 started at 2 and we left by 3.  Took the scenic route to avoid Joburg and World cup mania.

Loskop Dam

Road was a lot quieter and was nice to see a new part of the country.  Came through Pietersberg / Polokwane at 14h00 which wasn't the best timing as we were diverted through the centre of town which was a buzz with traffic - all with vuvuzela's blaring and people in a very festive mood.  Was hard not to get caught up in the hype.  So many people were dressed in wigs and hats and all the soccer gear.  Took a long time to get through but at least it was entertaining.  Unfortunately we didn't make Tshipese in time for the Opening ceremony.  From highlights later, it looked as though it was quite spectacular.

Arrived in Tshipise about 16.40 and watched the end of the match.  Tshipise is lovely with loads to do.  The camp site was jammed full so we were glad to be booked into cabins which are beautifully spaced between the thorn trees.  The hot pools are great with the indoor ones at 42 degrees C!  Lovely for after supper and before bed!

Spent today finalising work, making some changes to the box placements in the Landrover and the kids caught up on sleep.  Enjoyed watching the Boks thump Ireland and beat the kids at putput!  After a nice warm lol in the pools it is off to bed before an early start again tomorrow. Off to Harare - hold thumbs for a short border crossing.
Lots of love
